Old intro
My name is Cooper and I am a Meditation Teacher in Lynnwood, Washington. Over the last 10+ years, I’ve delved deep into meditation, therapy, spirituality, self-healing, and becoming my authentic self.
Through this journey, I’ve seen my quality of life skyrocket - mental health diagnoses have floated away into distant memories, new and old traumas have been processed and healed, my social anxiety has vanished, my “internal monologue” has become one of encouragement and positivity, and I’ve felt myself embody a confidence and inspiration that I didn’t think was possible before.
Because my life has been saved and rejuvenated multiple times by the practices of meditation, introspection, and working with a therapist, I am now going to take the seat as your teacher and coach to help you become your best self.
-
When you work with me, I’ll teach you meditation and every other tool of healing and introspection that I’ve learned. While I am certified to teach Mindfulness Meditation and we will start with that, I will adapt to any of your needs or beliefs to make sure you get the personalized care you deserve. I will draw upon multiple meditation styles, as well as the latest discoveries and trends in the fields of psychology in order to give you a holistic view and path forward in your journey.
I was formally trained by David Nichtern at Dharma Moon to teach Mindfulness Meditation. However, I also have spent a decade studying and practicing with Ancient Buddhist and Yogic Philosophy in order to fill out my spiritual and personal exploration. In order to compliment the traditional and spiritual side, I’ve also incorporated what I learned from my decade in modern therapy with Joe Eiben and personal study of modern findings in Mental Health.

“What exactly do you do? What’s this about?”
I want this website to be a resource for you to check in with along your introspective journey. I find it helpful to express myself through writing and I enjoy teaching others, and I wish I had a website like this when I was younger. So please enjoy the fruits of this stage of my journey, and may this site serve you in some way of becoming your truer self.
“So what do you do?” is such a common question in our culture, and my answer depends on who’s asking and in what context, but my real unfiltered answer is “I am on a journey of awakening and healing”. I certainly have career goals, I work a day job to pay for food and bills, I have desires with how I want my friendships and relationships to be, and all that. So I could definitely answer “oh I do X on the weekdays and I hope to become Y in the next few years”, but that’s really just the social habit of a safe response we all have.
Behind it all, regardless of what job I have, who I spend my time with, what hobby I’m fixated on - and regardless of whether I’m happy with those answers, I’m really focusing on my inner experience, my trajectory towards a life of more ease and wisdom, and how my mind reacts to life around me. This has many names that kind of dance around what the gist of it is - spiritual journey, self help journey, sadhana, healing, processing, seeking.
Okay, so I am on a spiritual journey, what does that even really mean? I meditate, I contemplate, I dedicate my everyday actions to the purpose of bettering myself, I eat and move my body in a way that keeps my longevity and health in mind, I do my best to “play the game” of being an American adult without cynicism, I have a few philosophy / belief systems that resonate with me and give me a framework to build my life around, I spent time in therapy and coaching, I try to treat people with compassion, and I do my best to keep up to date with the science of psychology and related fields.
Everyone’s journey is different and there may be some things I do that really resonate with you, and some things that feel irrelevant or strange. The point here is to find the common ground that unites all of them so that we can all make attainments on the journey of awakening in our own styles.
Awakening though, what is that exactly? It can mean different things to different people, but my overall feeling about it is - There are ways of thinking that are less enjoyable than others. Two people can be in the same life situation, but one feels like they’re trapped and being beat down by the world, and the other feels a sense of expansiveness, freedom, and energy.
If you feel dread and anxiety about life - there is another way of being, and people have historically traveled this path before us. There are certain methods and habits that you can integrate into your life, just however your life life is at this moment, that can help move you towards a place of more ease, clarity, wisdom, joy, and contentment. These methods are not taught to us in most modern cultures, and so it can be difficult to imagine this possibility or to know where to start.
